It’s winter, and in winter, I usually feel the blues. It’s gloomy and dark, unlike summer.
I miss going out, walking in the park, exploring nature, and feeling that nice fresh spring or summer breeze. Winter is completely different, and that’s why I like to cocoon up at home and prepare gourmet food.
It makes me feel happier when I’m feeling a little blue—kind of like that “Blue Christmas” song by Elvis Presley. I could listen to that all day long right now, just before Christmas hits.
That’s also why I love food. I’m thinking about cheese—lots of cheese. Cheddar, mozzarella, marble—any kind of fatty cheese that goes with my soup, lasagna, sandwiches, or anything else.
I could sprinkle cheese on everything all day long.
I also think about carbs, like pasta and bread.
Whole wheat, white carbs, refined carbs—it doesn’t matter.
Some days, you just don’t feel like doing much, and you want to treat yourself to a delicious winter meal to keep warm.
I even love processed meats like sausages or pepperoni—anything that elevates the flavor of my dish.
This post is all about lazy comfort food to brighten up your winter blues.
My favorite is homemade pizza loaded with cheese or a juicy beef burger loaded with even more cheese. Cheese is definitely my number-one comfort food.
I hope you enjoy these recipe ideas to warm up and feel good during the winter!
