Pesto sauce! Whenever I hear the word pesto, I get so excited!

It’s hands-down one of my absolute favorite sauces to use in my Italian recipes, especially on pizza.

Okay fine, pasta too but you have to try it on pizza!!

I remember the first time I tried pesto on pizza—I instantly fell in love with it. Ever since that moment, I have almost always chosen pesto over the classic tomato sauce.

Sorry, tomatoes…. I still love you for your lycopene antioxidant but pesto feels more like a comfort food!

It has that minty, slightly oily, and sometimes creamy texture, depending on how you make it. You just get addicted to the taste, and before you know it, you end up eating more than you expected because it is that GOOD!

That’s why whenever I make pesto pasta or spaghetti, I tend to go overboard and flood it with pesto sauce. Call me nuts but it’s just a guilty pleasure of mine. 😔

However, not all pesto is made equally. I always try to make my own at home by blending organic extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, different types of mint, basil leaves (it depends on my mood), some nuts like pistachio (oh yummy), and a splash of almond milk. The result is a beautiful, creamy and slightly oily sauce… so yummy!

Anyway, enough of my rambling about how amazing pesto is.
