20 Easy DIY Christmas Ornaments to Decorate Your Tree

October, November, and December are the months I love because Christmas is just right around the corner!

I usually can’t wait for it to snow. It’s the perfect excuse for me to indulge in my favorite hot chocolate mint and cocoa drink.

While doing that, I also love spending time with my husband because we often make our own DIY Christmas ornaments every year.

We have been doing this for over 10 years, and it is so nostalgic to hear songs from Mariah Carey like “All I Want for Christmas Is You” or “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee.

Just listening to all this music lifts our spirits and is so upbeat that it motivates us to make more and more ornaments.

One of my favorite ornaments is slicing pieces of wood and painting them into Santa, Frosty the Snowman, or even the Grinch.

My husband loves to work on wood, and I’m the designer who enjoys painting, so we make a great team.

Since I’m talking about ornaments, I’ve also looked around Pinterest for other inspiration and ideas. There are so many ways to make ornaments!

Mine include using tiny mason jars to resemble a snow globe or buying plastic ornaments where I can fill them with tree leaves from our tree or pines from the Christmas tree design, and create my favorite character, the naughty Grinch.

As you can see, there are so many designs and ways to customize your ornaments.

If you feel like you need a little bit of extra money, you could even think about making and selling these ornaments.

Trust me—they actually do sell during Christmas because a lot of people enjoy handmade goods compared to just standard printed retail items.
